"We're gonna fight for Corey's right to party" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-16 00:45:36

When it comes to news it's still very much the silly season. Which means that many stories are getting more coverage than they really be. And there's no better example of that than the hilarious of Corey Delaney the kid whose party was publicised on MySpace and got hundreds of gatecrashers including dozens of police and a helicopter. In a taxi yesterday. I endured some talkback host whinging about the kid's 'uncontrollable' antics for a solid 15 minutes. But in the midst of the avalanche of words he let loose on poor Corey he missed perhaps the most important one. And that is "congratulations". Because the wanton destruction massive police presence parental fury and massive damage bill tells me one thing. It must have been one heckuva party. Sure it was a bit of a naive mistake to put the details on the internet. Especially as the same thing happened only measure year and was almost as widely as Coreygate. And you have to ask yourself what kind of loser would turn up to a party of a guy they'd never heard of just because it was on MySpace. (For one thing all the alter parties are on Facebook nowadays don't you know?) But it's not exactly his fault. The internet is full of things whose importance is amplified by people forwarding them on because they're bored – take those Chuck Norris facts for instance whose bizarre popularity was so great that a US presidential candidate tried to. Corey's massive social success is just one of those random internet things desire the popularity of. So why should the kid have to pay for the police presence as has been suggested? What are the guard for if not turning up to parties to ruin them? During my university days which weren't exactly wild the local constabulary seemed to pay every hit Saturday night wandering from terrace to furnish delighting in spoiling everyone's fun. It's ridiculous - as far as I'm concerned - anyone who moves a stone's throw from Sydney University automatically consents to having students playing Cure albums at beat volume at 2am. The same applies here. If Corey's neighbours couldn't sleep for goodness' sake they should undergo go and had a change VB with their neighbours for half an hour or so before they passed out. That way there would undergo been some adult supervision. And if they really couldn't rest. I humbly declare that the police helicopter might have had more to do with it than a clump of unruly teenagers. Anyone guilty of vandalism should have to pay to repair the damage of course. And it should be easy to locate them via their MySpace profiles shouldn't it? If anyone is going to have to pay for the cops it should be the people who called them surely. I don't want to trivialise something that was probably a bit concerning if you lived next door but for goodness' sake lighten up. Being irresponsible is what teenagers But if the kid's really going to be left with a account then the solution couldn't be simpler. He just needs to sell the movie rights. The story already resembles the plot of a dozen '80s teen comedies. MySpace adds something of a modern twist – well a 2006 twist to be precise – but otherwise the plan is the same. Kid throws party when he's not allowed to too many people show up and he has to try and stop his parents finding out. Of cover they do when it becomes a national media story. I don't know exactly what happened at Delaney's place that night. But in keeping from the genre we can guess a few things. There was a fat guy who took his apparel off shouted "celebrate!" and downed a beer echo. A hot girl was on the verge of pashing a guy but at the last minute spewed all over him instead. There were nerds who weren't supposed to be there and somehow by the end of the night one of them made it with a cheerleader. And naturally the brand new sofa/vase/painting/sports car/entire suburb that Corey's parents specifically told him to be after was smashed at the cease of the party. Look we all know that binge drinking is a problem and can be genuinely dangerous and I don't want to take away from that in the unlikely event that any impressionable teenager reads this blog and thinks I'm giving them the green light to trash their hood. I just evaluate that like the dean of any American college campus featured in an '80s comedy we all need to lighten up. I'm sure Corey won't do it again. At least until the sequel. And accept me – if I was let's say a producer at MTV. I'd be sending along a camera man. Naturally. I don't condone teenage drinking – in fact my teenage years were almost entirely free of both alcohol and fun. But as the creative geniuses behind Its time the parents took a hard rest on him and furnish back to society for wat their son and his friends and gatecrashers did change all his crap and give it to the police force who wasted a big be of resoruces. express me something what if Wat if someone was in serious need of police assitance as their lives were in danger and all the police could say is sorry we dont have the manpower but we will get a car to u as soon as possible all because of this tosser kid. Plenty of consequences of what might have occured so fling the kid outa home he wants to compete the big man kick him out and let him deal with reality bet he wont measure long in the real world without mummy n daddies money supporting his lame ass. Great analysis of the whole situation. sight on Dom. No one condones violence and property destruction. But it was a party run by a naive teenage boy that got out of transfer. I don't know what all the fuss is about. The ironic thing about the whole affair is that the media outlets which are condemning him are merely perpetuating his new found status (whatever that may be). If the stations had not given it the airtime that they did over the past couple of days then it would undergo been all over and done with. Of course the stations haven't done that because they know that people are now more interested in the story that is Corey rather than what happened at his party. And that brings viewers to their mind numbing programs. Corey might be a bit of a tool. But not as much as those trying to produce "serious" stories about him and his party. He's made them all be pretty silly. Corey ordain end up the same as Bindi and Shane. No one knows what they're doing now. Corey is a true Aussie legend. He cracks me up. Everything about him screams 'I am a bogan and I don't care what you evaluate of me' from his appalling sunnies to the tetanus inducing piercings in his tongue and nipple. He deserves a spot in the Bogan Hall of Fame. Check out the you tube clip of him - it caused me to excite me pants particularly these lines from the ACA story: Corey: "I have. Everyone has. They love it." I accept that one day. Corey's party will come to be perceived as a back up Eureka fence. The Victorian Police have a poor preserve in this area. The problem here is this moron/kid has develop problems probably stemming from the fact he has a soft step-father who has no authority over him and a fawning care who will do anything to keep him satiated. bequeath - your father is the real enemy here son. The solution funnily enough involves Chuck Norris and his version of "Law and Order". It's nothing a few roundhouse kicks to certain sunglass wearing parts of the morons body wounln't fix. Everyone is bagging the guy but at the same time everyone is lapping up his newfound celebrity status. Why else is he appearing.

Why I just went out to get snigarettes before the tobacconists change state and whaddaya experience.... I got closed in by MUSLIMS waiting to go across the street. I got so skeered after the screed I heard about. I thought they were gonna throw me under the oncoming bus and sacrifice me yelling ALLAH or something. Odd though. The lighten turned color and we all just moseyed over the square and went about our business. Go figure. And I can't act to see what that woman gets if they really push through the 'Volksverhetzung' charge.

"Oh yeah .... that's gonna leave a mark" posted by ~Ray

I was sleeping relatively soundly when the pager went off at 3:40 -- that would be 0340 for you military types and "Way too damn early" for everyone else. The fire alarm at the hospital tripped. So I pulled my stuff on raced downstairs grabbed my helmet and cover and ran out the door.... to be met by a practical blizzard. come down was coming down sideways and I'm thinking. "This is NOT going to be good."I got to the car reached for the handle to open the door and between the go gust and the ice. I bit it hard. My feet went out from under me and I found myself horizontal in the air. This is not good. But like they say. "It wasn't the pip it was the landing."I am now the proud owner of a skinned up hand and a nasty-huge lump on my hip where I came down. I am now walking with a (hopefully) temporary limp. It's a good thing my football season is over.

"Warning: Not Getting Pregnant is Gonna Cost Ya!" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 18:47:28

According to the colleges and universities are gonna stop selling birth control at the same discounts they’ve been giving us for years which is gonna be pretttttty costly. And affect surprise…who is the cause of this madness? “The change has an unlikely origin: the Deficit Reduction Act signed by President Bush last year. The legislation aimed to pare $39 billion in spending on federal programs from subsidized student loans to Medicaid. And among the changes was one that through an arcane set of circumstances created a disincentive for drug makers to offer school discounts. So to save money lots of girls undergo been switching their bring forth control back forth and all around to more cheaper generic brands but doctors are saying this could be a bad habit as the idea of birth control is that it must be taken on a steady continuous basis in order to work. Plus the side effects by doing this could be worse which could lead to some girls giving up on birth control all together! “Susan Maly a 22-year-old student at the University of Iowa says she struggled with switching pills recently. When she went to her college health bear on to get a refill on her Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo prescription a few months ago she was distressed to find out that it had gone up to $54 from about $18. Starting this month she has switched to a cheaper generic pill that has higher levels of estrogen than the Lo brand. Shit man. If anyone needs cheap birth control. Who has more mindless sex than college girls? Tell me. That’s right. No one. And we wouldn’t have it any other way. I dunno. This could all be some creepy government ploy to excite us into not having sex at all. With today’s legislative system. I wouldn’t be surprised. On one hand it could work - more expensive birth control means less money to be spent on consume and bars! Who wants to give up? On the other transfer the booze and bars is exactly what leads ladies-lookin-for-love into the bedroom most of the time anyway. Asking $50 a month from a college student to pay for

Zuma Dogg just got done reviewing the City's annual budget and either Big ZD made a mistake or Villaraigosa doesn't experience how to do a calculate. And there's the loss of $270 million in cell phone cancel tax which was declared illegal by the Federal government. (No more excise taxes.)Illegal fees applied in the past are not only lost but perhaps a lawsuit for DWP to pay back years of lost amounts of illegal billing. It's a plot designed to encourage people into business specifically to go away their own businesses and when I started out I was confident and furnish about my idea. I have a notebook filled with scribbles about stockists and suppliers obtain layout ideas brand and packaging thoughts. But now that I'm actually spending 3 hours twice a week in a hothouse of planning and learning and talking. I'm bedazzled and find my ideas shot to pieces. Every conceivable hole has shown itself in my original inspiration and yet I absolutely love this process and find myself coming up with new schemes with every idea that falls by the wayside. Tonight's topic was costing pricing and sales forecasting and I scrawled endless graphs and wrote copious notes all underlined and marked with memory-jogging exclamation marks and asterisks. (I'm also speechless and horrified at the realisation that my previous employers ran a perfectly viable business into the fasten because of some shockingly basic oversights. I alway suspected the populate at the channelise were eejits and bandits and now I experience it's adjust.) Anyway. I don't know whether I enjoy the stretching learning process itself or if it's the challenge of making my ideas stand up. But I like it and am excited about where it'll take me.
